Bike tour in Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek – Suusamyr – Son-Kul Lake – Naryn – Issyk-Kul Lake –Bishkek

Season: mid June – mid September

Day 1 Bishkek.

Early morning meeting at the airport, transfer to the hotel. City sightseeing: the Art Museum and the           History Museum. Lunch in a local restaurant and then continue with the city tour (Ala-Too square, Victory square, etc.). Dinner at the local restaurant. Overnight in the hotel.

Day 2 Bishkek.

After breakfast prepare the bikes and transfer to Oruu-Say ski base (1600m). Biking back to Bishkek. Dinner at the local restaurant and overnight in the hotel.

Day 3 Bishkek – Suusamyr.

The first bike etap  to Suusamyr (ca 2025m). Tent camp in the place of confluence Karakol and Kekemeren Rivers.

Day 4 Suusamyr – Karakol Pass

Biking along the Karakol River (altitude ca. 2820). Camp. Overnight before Karakol pass (3452m).

Day 5 Karakol Pass – Djumgal River.

Transfer to Kyz Art Pass (2664m), and then biking over the Chara Archa Pass (3061m) to the Djumgal River (2800 m). Camp overnight in tents.

Day 6 Djumgal River – Sonkul Lake.

Bike over the Tuez Ashu Pass (3229 m) to the Song Kul lake (3021 m). Overnight in Yurts. Bike ca 50 km.

Day 7 Sonkul Lake.

Biking along the lake to Kokjerty River through Terskey Torpok pass (3133 m). Overnight in tents.

Day 8 Son-Kul Lake - Naryn.

Biking to Naryn along country road. Altitudes: 1600 - 1800m. Overnight in Guest House.

Day 9 Naryn – Kara-Kaman River.

Naryn – Naryn river – Kichi Naryn river – Sary-Kungey gorge till Kara-Kaman river. Camp overnight in tents, Bike 70km. Altitudes above sea level during the day vary  from  2000m to 2600m.

Day 10 Kara-Kaman River – Juyli-Suu springs.

Biking along Balgart river (2725 m) and  Jyli-Suu River (2947 m) to Jyli-Suu springs (hot springs). Camp overnight in tents, Biking distance is about 40 km.

Day 11 Teshik-Kol Lake.

Radial biking or hiking to Teshik-Kol Lake (3504 m), about 5 km far from Jyli-Suu springs. Biking to Uchemchek River (ca 3451m).

Day 12 Teshik-Kol Lake – Tamga village.

Bike along Uchemchek and Tosor Rivers via Tosor pass (3893m) to Tamga village. Overnight in Tamga Guest House. Total mileage is ca. 50 km. Altitudes during the day vary from 3900 - 2200m.

Day 13 Tamga village.

Day of rest on the seashore of Issyk-Kul Lake. Overnight in Tamga Guest House.

Day 14 Tamga village - Bishkek.

Transfer to Bishkek (310 km), pack the bikes. Overnight in the hotel in Bishkek.

Day 15 Bishkek.

After breakfast at the hotel free time for last minute shopping, sightseeing etc. Overnight in the hotel.

Day 16 Departure.

Early morning transfer to the airport (40 km - 40 min.) and departure.

  Notes:

  •  Weather in altitude areas of the Kyrgyz Republic is quite cold, therefore it is necessary to have warm jackets and sleeping bags
  •  Accommodation in any Yurt Inn is usually 3-4 persons of the same gender in a yurt, however if the Yurt Inn will not be full by the time the group arrives, double occupancy may be arranged without extra fee.
