Heliski programme in Suusamyr. Kyrgyzstan

Best season: January – March

Mountain Hollow Suusamyr is situated 130 km far from Bishkek. It is located between two mountain ranges: Kyrgyz Range from the north and SuusamyrToo from the south. The height of the valley is 2200-2600 m with peaks up to 4500 m. The uniqueness of the area consists of a huge choice of slopes with different exposures, length and difference of altitudes. Advantages of heli-ski on Suusamyr conclude:

• stable, windless weather,
• stable snow cover from early November till late March
• short flight distance to ski area
• snow cover up to 2,5 meters deep
• good possibility t get extra service: paragliding, lift by cableway, etc.

Scheme of standard program Bishkek-Bishkek

Day 1

International flight to Bishkek.

Day 2

Arrival in Bishkek. Transfer to Suusamyr. Accommodation in the Too-Ashu ski base.

Days 3 -7

Heli-ski in Suusamyr. Overnight in the Too-Ashu ski base.

Day 8

Heliski, transfer to Bishkek.

Day 9

International flight from Bishkek.

Price is valid for groups of 12 persons and more

Conditions and notes:

1. Costs of helicopter flights may change, price have to be confirmed before booking

2. Mountain guides choose routes for skiing by themselves according to the group physical training, weather and snow conditions.

In case of not providing confirmed flight and skiing hours by the reason of bad weather or safety reasons payment is refunded.

If confirmed flight and skiing hours are not provided because of other reasons (tourists bad physical training, fault condition of skiing outfit and others) payment is not refunded.

The MI-8 MTV helicopters (equivalent to the more internationally known MI 17) can land on peaks and passes up to an altitude of 4500m with a group of up to 16 skiers. The three main areas of interest for heli-skiing in Kyrgystan are the Kyrgyz range, the Terskey Ala-Too range and the area south of Karakol in the region of Lake Issyk-Kul. In addition to Kyrgystan, there are also heli-skiing possibilities in Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. Other possible heli-skiing options are available in Central Asia and alternative itineraries can be discussed and tailored to individual group requirements.
