Bishkek – Karakol – Ala-Kol – Altyn-Arashan - Son-Kul Lake – Bishkek

Travel Season: July - August

Day 1: Arrival in Bishkek.

Meet the group at the airport in Manas and transfer to Bishkek by minibus. Accommodation in the hotel 3*.

Day 2: Karakol

Transfer to Karakol (390km, 6-7 hours) through Cholpon-Ata. On the way excursion to Ethnographical Museum, and Petroglyphs Museum in the open air in Cholpon-Ata (ancient drawings on the stones dated 2000-3000 BC). Continue excursion in Karakol: Museum of Prijivalsky, Orthodox Church, Mosque. Accommodation in the Home Stay.

Day 3: Karakol Gorge

Transfer to Karakol Gorge (50 km far from Karakol city) by cross-country vehicle GAZ 66. Trekking to the place called Sirota (Orphan), altitude - 2900 m. Trekking distance during the day is 6-7 km, it takes about 3 hours. Set up a Tent camp. Radial hiking. Acclimatization. Full board. Overnight in a tent.

Day 4: Trekking to Ala-Kol Lake

Trekking to Ala-Kol Lake (3500 m) and back. Trek along the Kurgak-Tor Gorge via waterfall will take about 4 hours one way. Full board. Overnight in a tent.

Day 5: Altyn-Arashan Gorge

Trekking from Ala-Kol Lake to Altyn-Arashan Gorge 2500 m (Golden Spring) hot springs to swim in (40-45°). Full board. Overnight in a tent.

Day 6: Kochkor

Breakfast. Transfer back to Karakol by cross-country vehicle GAZ 66. Transfer to Kochkor (275km, 4-5 hours) by minibus. Accommodation in Home Stay.

Day 7: Kyzart Village

Transfer to Kyzart village (80km, 2 hours). Loading all the equipment to the horses and trek to Kilemche Jailoo by horses. Dinner and overnight in Yurt Inn.

Day 8: Son-Kul Lake

Arrival at Son-Kul Lake by horses. Rest. Visit the local nomad’s family and see local traditions and customs. Dinner and overnight in Yurt Inn.

Day 9: Departure

Transfer to Bishkek (355 km, 5-6 hours). Excursion to Burana Tower (X-XI AD) on the way. Accommodation in the hotel 3*.

The price is valid for a group of 6 persons.

1) Transportation:

Minibus 15 seats

Cross-country vehicle GAZ 66, 14 seats, 4 WD for the transfer to Karakol Gorge and Altyn-Arashan Gorge

6 Horses for horse trekking from Kysart village to Son-Kul Lake

Bishkek – Alpinist hotel 3* or equal level (2 nights in twin room)

Karakol – CBT Home Stay (1 night, breakfast is included)

Kochkor – CBT Home Stay (1 night, breakfast is included)

Kilemche Jailoo – Yurt Inn (1 night, breakfast and dinner are included)

Son-Kul Lake – Yurt Inn (1 night, breakfast and dinner are included)

Triple sharing basis tent for a trekking period to Ala-Kol Lake and Altyn-Arashan

3) Meals:

Full board for trekking to Ala-Kol Lake and Altyn-Arashan (from lunch on day 3 to breakfast on day 6)

Bottled water (1.5 liters per day/pers) for the transfers

4) Personnel:

4 Porters to carry food, kitchen utensils, and tent only for the trekking period

Cooker for trekking period

2 Horseman with their own horses for horse trekking Son-Kul Lake
