Bishkek – Osh – Uzgen – Shah Fazil – Padysha Ata

Day 1: Arrival in Bishkek | Tokmok | Burana Tower | Bishkek City Tour

Accommodation: 3* Hotel, Bishkek
Meals: Lunch, Dinner

We will arrive at Manas International Airport in Bishkek, where we will meet our English-speaking guide. After the airport welcome, we will transfer to our hotel for check-in and time to freshen up.

Next, we will drive to Tokmok, a town in the Chuy Valley, to experience the local culture.

We will have lunch with a local Dungan family, a unique opportunity to taste traditional Dungan cuisine, learn about their lifestyle, and see how Islamic dietary traditions are preserved in Kyrgyzstan.

After lunch, we will visit Burana Tower:

Burana Tower, Chuy Valley – An 11th-century Karakhanid minaret and one of the earliest Islamic monuments in Central Asia. Visitors can climb the tower for panoramic views of the surrounding valley.

Burana Archaeological Museum – Located nearby, this museum features Karakhanid-era artifacts such as coins, ceramics, and inscriptions that illustrate early Islamic culture in the region.

Traditional Kyrgyz Yurt near Burana – A reconstructed nomadic yurt where local artisans sell felt crafts, textiles, and souvenirs. This demonstrates the connection between nomadic life and Islamic cultural heritage.

After exploring Burana, we will return to Bishkek for a city tour:

Ala-Too Square – The central square with national monuments, ideal for learning about Kyrgyzstan’s history and culture.

Central Mosque of Bishkek – The main mosque in the city, offering insight into the spiritual life of local Muslims.

Victory Square – A Soviet-era memorial complex of historical significance.

Osh Bazaar – Bishkek’s main traditional market, reflecting local Islamic culture with spices, textiles, and handmade crafts.

In the evening, we will have dinner at a traditional restaurant. After dinner, guests will have free time at the hotel to relax and prepare for the next day’s journey.

Day 2: Flight to Osh | Uzgen Minaret and Karakhanid Architectural Complex | Jalal-Abad

We will transfer to the airport in Bishkek for a domestic flight to Osh, a historic city in southern Kyrgyzstan and an important center of Islamic culture in the Ferghana Valley.

Upon arrival in Osh, we will drive to Uzgen, a small town known for its remarkable medieval Islamic architecture.

We will visit the Uzgen Architectural Complex:

Uzgen Minaret – An 11th–12th century tower built during the Karakhanid dynasty, one of the earliest Islamic ruling dynasties in Central Asia. The minaret is an outstanding example of Islamic brick architecture and offers panoramic views of the town.

Karakhanid Mausoleums – Tombs of local rulers and scholars that reflect the early spread of Islam in the Ferghana Valley. These mausoleums feature ornamental brickwork and Islamic calligraphy, showing the integration of religious culture and political power.

Uzgen Mosque Ruins – Ancient remains of a mosque where locals once gathered for prayer and education, demonstrating how Islamic traditions shaped daily life in medieval Kyrgyzstan.

We will also explore the surrounding Silk Road settlement and observe the influence of Islam on trade, architecture, and local customs.

Lunch will be served at a local restaurant offering traditional halal cuisine.

After our visit, we will drive to the Jalal-Abad region.

In the evening, we will have dinner at a local restaurant, followed by a transfer to the hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 3: Shah Fazil Mausoleum and Padysha Ata National Park | Jalal-Abad

We will start the day with breakfast at the hotel and then depart for Shah Fazil Mausoleum, one of the most sacred Islamic sites in Kyrgyzstan.

We will visit Shah Fazil Mausoleum and Safed Bulan:

This 11th-century mausoleum is a key pilgrimage site in the Ferghana Valley.

Shah Fazil is revered as a religious scholar and one of the early propagators of Islam in the region.

The mausoleum has an octagonal structure with intricately carved wooden ceilings, representing medieval Islamic architecture.

Pilgrims come here to pray for health, prosperity, and spiritual blessings.

The surrounding area includes small prayer halls and historical graves of Islamic scholars, providing insight into the spiritual and cultural life of the region.

After exploring Shah Fazil, we will have lunch at a local guesthouse featuring traditional halal dishes.

Next, we will drive to Padysha Ata National Park, a scenic mountain reserve with a sacred shrine.

We will visit the Padysha Ata Shrine and its surroundings:

The park is home to the sacred shrine of Padysha Ata, which has been visited by local pilgrims for centuries.

Short scenic walks allow guests to experience the natural beauty and spiritual atmosphere without strenuous effort, making this visit suitable for all ages.

We will learn about Kyrgyz nomadic culture intertwined with Islamic traditions, including local offerings and ceremonies at the shrine.

After our visit, we will return to the hotel. Dinner will be served at a local restaurant, followed by an overnight stay.

Day 4: Osh City Tour and Sulaiman-Too Sacred Mountain

We will start the day with breakfast at the hotel and then drive to Osh for a full cultural and historical tour.

We will visit Sulaiman-Too Sacred Mountain (UNESCO World Heritage Site):

A sacred Islamic pilgrimage site that has been visited for centuries by local Muslims.

The mountain contains ancient caves used for prayer, inscriptions, and small shrines.

Sulaiman-Too is also a spiritual center, reflecting how Islam shaped the traditions and culture of the region.

Visitors can enjoy panoramic views of Osh and walk along the trails to observe the site’s historical and spiritual features.

We will also visit other important sites in Osh:

Rabat Abdullakhan Mosque – A historic mosque still active for daily prayers, providing insight into local Islamic life.

Osh Bazaar – The largest market in southern Kyrgyzstan, offering a wide array of spices, textiles, handicrafts, and local products that reflect the Islamic and nomadic heritage of the region.

Lunch will be served at a local halal restaurant.

In the evening, we will enjoy a farewell dinner at a traditional restaurant before returning to the hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 5: Departure from Osh

Meals: Breakfast

We will start the day with breakfast at the hotel.

We will transfer to Osh International Airport for our flight to Jeddah, concluding our 5-day cultural and Islamic heritage tour of Kyrgyzstan.

There are direct flights from Osh to Jeddah three times a week (Monday, Wednesday, and Friday).

There are also direct flights from Bishkek to Jeddah three times a week (Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday).

This means that on those days, it is also possible to return via Bishkek and then fly from Bishkek to Jeddah.

End of tour.
