Day 1: Arrive in Almaty, Almaty City Tour
Meeting at the airport, transfer to Almaty.
Almaty city tour.
The first part of the tour passes through the central part of Almaty and covers many sights. A walk here allows you to see the old buildings of the city and cathedrals that are steeped in history, take a walk through the famous Almaty parks and city squares, and visit Kok Tobe.
Lunch.
The second part of the tour will introduce you to one of the world’s largest alpine complexes for winter sports – Medeo. Here you can go ice skating, take memorable photos with a falcon while dressed in Kazakh national clothes, or simply take a walk around the complex. Above Medeo is the Shymbulak Ski Resort, which can be reached by cable car.
Dinner at 18:00.

Day 2: Almaty, Charyn Canyon, Saty Village, Kolsai Lake
Breakfast at the hotel.
Transfer to Charyn Canyon and explore the destination.

Day 3: Saty, Kegen Border Post, Karakol

During dinner, enjoy a folklore show from a local musical band.

Day 4: Jeti Oguz Valley, Barskoon Gorge, Skazka Canyon, Kaji Say
Breakfast at the hotel. Visit the Dungan Mosque, Holy Trinity Cathedral, and Bugu Bazaar.
Transfer to Jeti Oguz.
Explore the destination: Broken Heart Rock, Jeti Oguz Rocks, and enjoy walking or horse riding to Maiden Braid Waterfall according to your wishes.
Visit Barskoon Valley, the place where the Kumtor Gold Mine is located. Enjoy an easy 1-hour hike to one of the four waterfalls in Barskoon and see the monument dedicated to Yuri Gagarin, the first cosmonaut.
Lunch at a yurt café in Barskoon.
Stop at Skazka Canyon and explore the destination.
Transfer to Kaji Say.
Free time at Issyk Kul Lake beach.
Dinner at the guesthouse in Kaji Say.

Day 5: Kaji Say, Bishkek
Breakfast at the guesthouse.
Transfer to Bishkek city.
Stop at Bokonbaevo Village to see an eagle hunting show.

In Tokmok, visit Burana Tower.
Upon arrival in Bishkek, dinner at a local restaurant.

Day 6: Bishkek, Osh

Transfer to the airport for the Bishkek–Osh flight.

Day 7: Osh, Andijan, Kokand

Osh city tour.
According to legend, Osh was founded by King Solomon and served as one of the first places where merchants from the West met merchants from the Far East. For centuries, it has held an important position on the legendary Silk Road.
The tour guide will take you to the holy Suleiman-Too Mountain. This UNESCO Cultural Heritage Site has served as a pilgrimage site for 1,500 years. Many visitors, especially women, believe that visiting and praying at the mountain increases their chances of giving birth to healthy children, following an ancient Silk Road tradition.
We will then visit a museum located within the mountain and proceed to the local Jayma Bazaar. If time permits, we will also visit the Russian Orthodox Cathedral of the Archangel Michael and the central square of Osh, home to one of the world’s largest statues of Lenin, standing 25 meters high.
Lunch in Osh.
Transfer to the border with Uzbekistan.
Cross the border on foot.
Transfer to Kokand through Andijan (3 hours).
Dinner in Kokand.

Day 8: Kokand – Khujand by Car (140 km)

Day 9: Khujand – Penjikent – Samarkand (320 km)
Breakfast at the hotel.
Drive to Istaravshan city, visit the local bazaar and city sights.
Drive to Penjikent, city tour: Sarazm ancient town sights, lunch in a local teahouse.
Transfer to the border with Uzbekistan, and cross the border on foot.
Drive to Samarkand city, dinner and rest.

Day 10: Samarkand
Breakfast at the hotel.
Sightseeing tour in Samarkand. Visit Registan Square and enjoy an excursion to Bibi Khanum Mosque, once the largest mosque in Central Asia. Walking tour of the Siab Bazaar located near Bibi Khanum Mosque.
Lunch and dinner in Samarkand at local cafés.

Day 11: Samarkand – Bukhara (280 km)
Breakfast at the hotel.
Transfer to the train station.
Samarkand–Bukhara train (planned schedule 08:08–10:46, subject to change).
Upon arrival in Bukhara, lunch.
Sightseeing tour in Bukhara: The Ark Citadel (17th–20th centuries), Bolo-Khaouz Mosque (1712), Ismail Samani Mausoleum (9th–10th centuries), and Chashma Ayub Mausoleum. Then visit the Poi Kalyan Complex. The minaret is one of the rare monuments that survived the destructive invasion of Genghis Khan, who destroyed most monuments in Central Asia. Continue with visits to the trade domes Toki-Zargaron, Toki-Sarafon, and Toki-Tilpak Furushon, Magok-i-Attori Mosque, and Lyabi Khouz Square.

Day 12: Bukhara – Turkmenabad – Ashgabat (Bukhara – Turkmenabad 150 km)
Breakfast at the hotel.
Transfer to the Farap border post. Border crossing takes around 2 hours. With your invitation letter, you will be able to obtain your Turkmenistan visa at the border.
Please note: Depending on the number of people waiting to cross the border, you may need to wait up to one or two hours. Be prepared for a thorough search.
Meet the guide and transfer to Turkmenabad (2 hours from Alat).
Upon arrival in Turkmenabad, lunch and a short city tour including the city centre, central square, and theatre.
Transfer to the railway station. Train to Ashgabat at 19:20. Overnight on the train.

Day 13: Ashgabat – Darvaza (270 km)
08:30 arrival in Ashgabat by train. Short sightseeing tour (3–4 hours) in Ashgabat. The tour includes visits to the National Museum of History, the Arch of Neutrality, and Independence Park.
Lunch at a local restaurant in Ashgabat.
Drive to Darvaza (270 km, 5 hours) via the water crater and Erbent desert community. Opportunity to visit Altyn Asyr Gundogar Bazaar in the north of Ashgabat. Arrival in Darvaza.
Accommodation in yurts. Camp dinner and overnight in yurts (two people per yurt), Meal: BLD
Day 14: Darvaza – Dashoguz – Khiva (400 km)
Camp-style breakfast. Discover the burning gas crater. Transfer to the Dashoguz–Shavat border with Uzbekistan (270 km, 5 hours).
Cross the border (around 1 hour).

Sightseeing tour in Khiva: Muhammad Amin Khan Madrasa and Kalta Minor (18th century), Kunya-Ark Fortress (17th–19th centuries), Muhammad Rakhim Khan Madrasa (19th century), Said Allauddin Mausoleum (14th century), Jami Mosque with 212 wooden columns (18th century), Tash Khauli Palace, Pakhlavan Mahmud Mausoleum (14th–20th centuries), Islam Khoja Ensemble (early 20th century), bazaar, and woodcarvers’ workshops.
Dinner in Khiva.

Day 15: Khiva – Tashkent, Flight Home

Transfer to Urgench for the flight to Tashkent (09:20–12:00, subject to change).

Walking tour to the Alisher Navoi Ballet and Opera House. Built by Japanese prisoners of war and designed by Shusev, the same architect who designed Lenin’s Tomb, the architecture is a beautiful blend of Islamic art and classicism.
Then visit Independence Square and the Tashkent Metro.
Visit the Friday Mosque, Kaffol Shoshi Mausoleum, and Kukeldash Madrasah.
Visit the Museum of Decorative Arts, featuring an extensive collection of ceramics, carved wood, textiles, carpets, metalwork, and other handicrafts.
Dinner.
19:00 Transfer to the airport for the flight home.

Due to changing road and traffic conditions, driving times may be slightly shorter or longer than mentioned in the program.
Flight times are subject to change by Turkmenistan Airlines. Hand luggage allowance is 5 kg, and baggage allowance is 20 kg per person. If the baggage exceeds the limit, an extra charge of 2–3 USD per kg will apply.
If the traveller stays more than 3 working days in Turkmenistan, the travel agency will register and stamp the passport with the local Tourist Board.
An express PCR test for COVID-19 will be taken upon arrival.
