On the Issyk-Kul Lake 3-day tour, we will visit the Burana Tower. We will assist a local family in Kyzyl-Tuu Village in assembling a traditional nomadic yurt, where they will share interesting stories and facts about nomadic life. We will also visit the Golden Eagle House and Skazka Canyon.
Additionally, we will spend a night in a yurt camp in Jeti-Oguz, giving you a true yurt camping experience. We will discover the Maiden’s Braid Waterfall and other legendary sites in Jeti-Oguz. Day 1 – Bishkek, Burana Tower, Kyzyl-Tuu, Golden Eagle House (Bokonbaevo), Skazka Canyon, Jeti-Oguz
08:00 Early in the morning, we will pick you up from your hotel in Bishkek.
10:00 Our first destination is the Burana Tower, a historic site preserved from the ancient city of Balasagyn (11th–13th centuries). We will then pass through Boom Gorge and continue along the southern shore of Issyk-Kul Lake.
13:30 Lunch with a local family in Kyzyl-Tuu Village, where you will also participate in assembling a traditional Kyrgyz yurt.
15:00 Drive to Bokonbaevo Village to visit the Golden Eagle House.
17:00 Visit Skazka Canyon, also known as the “Fairy Tale Canyon.”
19:00 Arrival at Jeti-Oguz Gorge. Dinner and overnight stay in a yurt camp. (In summer, overnight in a yurt camp; until May 20, accommodation will be in a guesthouse.)
Day 2 – Jeti-Oguz, Karakol City Tour
09:00 After breakfast at the yurt camp in Jeti-Oguz, we will visit the famous “Seven Bulls” rock formation, hike to the “Maiden’s Braid” Waterfall, and see the “Broken Heart” rock while hearing the legends behind these sites.
12:00 Departure for Karakol, known as a youthful and vibrant city. Upon arrival, we will visit the Bugu Bazaar. For lunch, you will taste Karakol’s famous dishes such as Ashlyam-fu and fried potato patties (pirozhki). Ashlyam-fu is a traditional dish of the Uyghur and Dungan communities, consisting of noodles with starch and a cold, spicy sauce.
After lunch, we will continue the city tour with visits to the Holy Trinity Cathedral and the Dungan Mosque.
16:00 Visit the Ak-Suu hot springs, where you can relax in thermal pools.
19:00 Overnight stay in a guesthouse in Karakol.
Day 3 – Karakol, Cholpon-Ata, Bishkek
09:00 Breakfast at the guesthouse, then departure for Bishkek via the northern shore of Issyk-Kul Lake.
12:00 In Cholpon-Ata, visit the Petroglyphs Open-Air Museum and the Ruh Ordo Cultural Complex.
We will pass through Boom Gorge and stop at a popular local dining place, “Apamdyn Kattamasy,” which translates to “Mother’s Kattama Bread.”
15:00 Taste traditional Kyrgyz kattama (layered bread) and enjoy tea with milk prepared in a samovar (a traditional nomadic kettle), while listening to stories about Kyrgyz cuisine.
18:00 Arrival in Bishkek. Transfer to your hotel after an unforgettable tour around Issyk-Kul Lake.
