Trekking In Central Tien - Shan Tour

TREKKING: KYRGYZSTAN.

Central Tien-Shan

Best season: July – August

Day 1: International flight to Bishkek. Meeting at the airport in Bishkek. Transfer to the hotel. Rest.

Afternoon city sightseeing tour in Bishkek: Philharmonic Society, Ala-Too Square, Victory Square, Handicraft Shops, Osh bazaar, Fine Arts Museum, State History Museum.

Day 2: Transfer from Bishkek to Karakol (400 km, 7 hours).

On the way excursion to Burana Tower (X-XI AD). Accommodation in Hotel 3*.

Day 3: Transfer to At-Djailoo, 2500 m above sea level (200 km, 6 hours).

Radial walking. Acclimatization.

Day 4: Inylchek Glacier

Trekking to Inylchek Glacier, 2900 m above sea level (ca. 5 hours).

Day 5: Glina

Trekking to the so-called “Glina (Clay)” place (5 hours).

Day 6: Merzbacher Glade

Trek to Merzbacher Glade, 3420 m.

Day 7: Merzbacher Lake

Radial trekking to Merzbacher lake, 3300 m.

Day 8th – 9th: Inylchek Glacier

Trek along the Inylchek Glacier to the Komsomolsky Glacier and further to the base camp (4050 m), (7-8 hours of trekking every day).

Day 10: Rest Day

Rest day or circular trek to the foot of Khan-Tengri peak. Reserve the day for the helicopter flight.

Day 11: Karkara

Helicopter flight to Karkara (35 min.). Transfer to Issyk-Kul Lake (190km, 3-4 hours).

Day 12: Issyk

Issyk – Kul – Bishkek (260km, 4 hours of driving).

Day 13: Departure.

*) The helicopter flight to Maidaadyr can be changed to a flight to Karkara. It doesn't influence the day plan and itinerary at all as well as the cost.

NB: Helicopter flight schedule to be confirmed in June. As the program includes shared helicopters the actual flight can vary depending on scheduled flights.

Notes:

1. Each porter carries 15 kg of commercial weight.

2. Tourists must have a medical insurance policy

3. Every passenger on a helicopter can take up to 30 kg of luggage without extra payment.

4. Helicopters in the area of Inylchek Glacier are available in the following period: from July 10 to August 31 and sometimes till September 10. The schedule of the helicopter flight is confirmed for June.
